In My Own Words

I grew up surrounded by art- in a home where creativity wasn’t a weekend activity but part of daily life. My mother taught painting, my father sketched quietly in the evenings, and I spent much of my childhood exploring forms, textures, and colours. I completed my Visharad in drawing and painting early, during school days laying the foundation for a lifelong relationship with art.

And while life led me through more formal studies in engineering, the pull of making, of observing, feeling, and expressing never left. In fact it deepened.

This vision led me to start The Orby House- A design-led studio rooted in storytelling, where I could along with other artisans, explore how art could be embedded in the everyday. I was interested in more than just how things looked; I wanted to create pieces that made people feel, pause and connect.

Over time, my practice grew beyond design and into a more intuitive, contemplative form. Today, I work across painting, ceramics, and installation often inspired by nature, personal rituals and mythology. I’m drawn to what’s quiet but powerful; the details that hold memory and feeling.

I live and work in a quiet home in the outskirts of Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Creating for me, is a way of listening, touching the unseen layers of our inner and outer worlds. Through my work, I hope to hold space for reflection, spiritual connection, and the kind of truth that reveals itself in silence.
